Teresa Murak lives and works in Warsaw, Poland. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In her art the conceptual reflection is placed between performance and body art. Fundamental humanistic message of her actions, performances, and installations are often examining and questioning the human archetype of faith, death, birth, biological life, resurrection of the world. Her art is deeply rooted in pagan, Christian, and ancient traditions of Polish and European culture. Murak has had numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world including P.S.1 Museum in New York, Center for Contemporary Art - Zamek Ujazdowski, Warsaw, Poland, Zacheta, Warsaw, Poland, Kunstmuseum, Dusseldorf, Germany, Budapest Galeria, and the Ernst Museum in Budapest, Hungary, Lindenau – Museum, Altenburg, Germany and many others.
