Silvia A. Malagrino is a Chicago based artist, native of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Recent solo exhibitions include multimedia installations at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY; the Rockford Art Museum, Rockford, IL; the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Sheboygan, WI, and the Center for Photography at Woodstock, Woodstock, NY. Recent group exhibitions include: "New Faces and Other Recent Acquisitions",The Museum of The Art Institute of Chicago, IL; "Illinois Photographers in the 90´s", Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, IL; "Cultural Baggage", Rice University Media Center, Houston, TX; and "Issues and Identities",the Museum of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL.
Her works, which have been exhibited widely in the United States, Latin America and Europe, are included in the collections of the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL, the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, WI, La Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Paris, France, and the Fundaçao Athos Bulçao, Brasilia, Brazil, among others. She is Associate Professor at The School of Art and Design of the University of Illinois, Chicago
