What is Maximum SPL?

2011
07.21

Another important quality that you need to look for in a microphone is maximum SPL (sound pressure level). This is defined as the ability of the microphone to pick up loud sounds without distorting.

Most substandard microphones cannot handle extreme and loud sound levels. When this happens, distorted sounds may be heard. A microphone with a resistance to maximum SPL is recommended especially for political rallies, speeches and music concerts. With a microphone that has a high resistance to SPL, you can clearly understand what somebody is saying. You can also enjoy live music if the performers are using microphones with a high tolerance to extreme sound pressure levels.

The TLM 103 Shockmount is a microphone that is built to capture the softest sounds in an area. It can also resist loud sounds without producing distortions. With the TLM 103 Shockmount microphone, you get clear, smooth, and noise-free listening experience.

Music for Film and TV Using Library Music

2011
07.14

Library music is frequently used as theme or background music in films, radios and television. This is because library music offers a broad range of musical styles and genres that no other production can provide. This enables the editors and producers to get much of what they want in the same library without having to move from one library to another and this saves them a lot of time and also provides for variety from which to choose from. Library music is the best and most convenient for media producers because they can be assured that they can be able to license any piece of music in the library at a reasonable rate. Some of the most popular TV series from the United Kingdom have used library music like the popular comedy Benny Hill show. Library music composers are not known outside their profession but there are some veteran composers who have made a name like John Cameron.

Make Slamming Club Beats from Home

2011
06.10

Is there any reason why you can’t make slamming club beats from home? All you need is to find the right Digital Audio Workstation that will fit nicely on your computer and purchase it. There are several solid options for download online, including cyber sequencer, which is a fairly new DAW that is packed with the basic tools every budding beat maker will need. The software comes with a drum machine, keyboard and sequencer. You will definitely need to learn how to use the drum machine to its full capacity, because every one of your beats will be based on the drum pattern you lay down.

Once you start to get the hang of the tools within your DAW you can begin to crank out the hard-hitting beats. If you follow the path that many up and coming producers have followed then you could soon hear your beats pumping in the clubs. All it takes is putting your beats out in the world, by using the many social media websites to promote your stuff.

Practising is Your Best Bet for Successful Singing

2011
05.17

When you first learn to sing, you have to bear in mind that practices are very important. Just like mastering any other skills like drawing or playing an instruments, singing needs practice.

Try to make a schedule that fits you so it’s easier for you to maintain it and when it comes to choosing a place to practice, you should probably try choosing a room that is big enough for you and easily accessible during the time you set and away from noises that might distract you.

When you practice, try choosing songs that are within your range of vocal and that you like. This is so that you do not hurt your voice box and you can sing that over and over again. After you warm up with the song that you chose, you can move on to sing those song which you wanted to perform but not necessarily within your range. You can try that with music or without. With more practice you can master the song in no time.

However with some habits or myths that passed around, you might be confused what to do. But it is no brainer that tightening your jaw, stiffening body will do you any good. So don’t do that and just remember to relax and stay focus.

My New Opinion of Karaoke

2011
04.05

I have to admit that I wasn’t a big fan of karaoke for a very long time. I was one of the people who would sit on the sidelines and laugh at anyone who got up on stage without any apparent vocal talent. Eventually I found out that I was breaking some of the unwritten rules of karaoke, and the main one is not to make fun of other people even if they have bad voices. I decided to learn more about what it might feel like to get up on stage and finally my friends convinced me to give it a try. After all, since we hung out to karaoke bars so much I thought it would be only fair to pick up a microphone and see what all the fuss was about. When the music started to play I found myself getting into the moment and it wasn’t long before I was dancing next to the karaoke player. I seemed to be able to connect with the audience on an intimate level and they really enjoyed my song choices well.

I immediately discovered why people love karaoke so much, and it’s not really about joining a professional quality show. It’s about being able to express your musical talent no matter what vocal ability you have, and that’s actually a special kind of gift if you think about it. People all around the world admire singers and they wish that they had the talent to mimic their favorite celebrities, and karaoke is the closest you will ever get to that. After I had so much fun singing for the first time I decided to buy myself a brand-new karaoke system that would sit in the center of my home entertainment room. These days I don’t go to bars anymore because I am able to throw great parties in my own home, and the best part about it is I get to control which music gets played.
