Bozenna Biskupska lives and works in Warsaw, Poland. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Biskupska creates paintings, sculpture, installations. In the beginning of her artistic career she was strongly connected with the Polish traditions of the eschatological expression of post-WWII and the Holocaust trauma. Starting from figuration she later developed her own language of a human figure as a symbol, or as a sign. Line as a gesture on the surface of canvas, of paper or an object became her latest works – symbolic and minimal in the same time.
Biskupska participated in numerous solo and group shows all over the world: Denmark, France, Hungary, Italy (Venice Biennial 1984 and Padua), Luxemburg, Germany, and USA (Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, DC).
