I had my first dentist’s appointment when I was just about seven years old. I had a bad tooth back then. So I went to his office, and asked him to pull it out for me. In a matter of minutes, the pain was gone. I did not even notice he had already pulled it out. It must have been the anaesthetics. I was numb in my gums.

After he pulled my tooth out, the dentist gave me a lollipop. While seated on the comfy chair, I waited for my mum who was talking with the dentist. He probably gave my mum some tips on how to take care of my teeth. And then I said “thanks and good-bye” to my dentist.

Twenty or so years later, I never had any problems with my teeth. It was kinda surprising since I’m not the type who religiously brushes my teeth regularly, flosses, gargle mouthwash, etc. But then came the day when one molar was aching. My tooth was looking for some TLC.

By this time, I already moved in Oklahoma. So I went to this Oklahoma City dentist. He asked me some routine questions like “how often do I brush my teeth, floss, gargle, etc.” You know, it was just the typical questions concerning my habits. Then came this question, “When was the last time you visited your dentist? At that time, I didn’t have an answer. He just looked at my teeth and said, “A long time, right?” I nodded. I guess he knew by what he saw. I hadn’t been regularly taking care of my teeth nor did I see a dentist regularly.

I bought this fancy new laptop that can do so many things but the problem that I have been having with it is I am afraid to break it.
